Barely Xtensions Try-On

This section explains information used by the Barely Xtensions Try-On app from Au Dela Inc. You can use the app without an account. You do not need to provide an email address to use its try-on features.

Camera previews and AI photos

Camera previews, face positioning and hair-color analysis run on your device. These operations do not send camera frames or face-position measurements to our server.

If you choose AI looks and agree to the upload, the app sends your selected photo and the requested hair look through Supabase to Google's Gemini service. Gemini returns generated images to the app. The generation request does not include your profile email address or app installation identifier. Your photo may itself identify you.

Our generation service does not save your photo or the generated result to our application database or file storage. We request that Gemini not save the interaction as a reusable conversation. This does not disable Google's separate safety monitoring.

Google's abuse-monitoring documentation describes a 55-day retention period for prompts, context and generated responses used to detect misuse, protect its services and meet applicable disclosure requirements. Authorized Google personnel may review content flagged by its safety systems. This is a safety-monitoring period, not a maximum retention period for every type of Google-held data. Google's handling of AI requests is also subject to the applicable Gemini API terms. We do not promise that AI processing has zero data retention.

The app remembers your AI-upload choice. On the home screen, open Privacy & Choices and select Ask Again Before AI Uploads to withdraw the saved permission for future uploads. The app will ask again before another upload. Withdrawing permission does not recall requests that have already been sent.

Saved looks and optional online profiles

Saving a look stores its image and selected product details on your device. When you choose to save to Photos, the image is also added to your photo library. The profile-saving code does not upload that saved image.

Save my Hair Profile online is optional and off by default for each save. If you enable it and save, the app sends the selected shade, length, style and look, consent choices, app version and a persistent installation identifier to our Supabase service. If you choose to provide an email address, it is included with that profile. The Email me tips and offers choice records your marketing-email preference. Leaving online saving off keeps that profile on your device.

Optional usage and diagnostics

Share usage and diagnostics is optional and off by default. If you enable it, the app records interaction events and sends them to our Supabase service. These include app actions, selected or recommended shades, save/share/shop actions, AI-generation outcomes and error categories, timestamps, app version and the installation identifier. We use this information to understand how features are used and identify technical problems. The app also keeps a local event log while this setting is enabled.

The installation identifier is a random identifier for this app installation. It can link events to online profiles and an email address you choose to provide; it is not described as anonymous data.

You can turn analytics off at any time in Privacy & Choices. This stops new analytics collection. It does not erase information already sent or cancel requests that have already left the device. Permissions from earlier versions are renewed before this version enables analytics or AI uploads.

Data retention and deletion

Online profiles and usage records. Information you choose to send to our service is stored separately from the app on your device. The app does not assign an automatic expiration date to online profiles or usage and diagnostic records. These records can remain on our service after you stop using the app, turn a setting off, or remove the app, until they are separately deleted.

Turning off collection. Turning off Share usage and diagnostics stops new analytics collection. Leaving Save my Hair Profile online off prevents that save from sending a new profile. Resetting AI-upload permission makes the app ask before a future upload. These actions do not send a request to delete previously submitted records and do not recall information already sent to a service provider.

Your choices and existing records

To ask about existing app records, request deletion, or withdraw email consent, contact info@barelyxtensions.com. The app's Email a Privacy Request link opens a message for you to review and send. If an installation identifier already exists, the draft includes it to help locate your app records. You can also provide the email address you used for an online profile. The app does not create an installation identifier just to open this screen.

Saved files in the app remain on your device until the app's local data is removed. Deleting the app removes those local files; offloading it may preserve them. Photos saved to your photo library can be deleted in Photos. Deleting the app does not delete images from Photos or service records already sent to Supabase or Google. Device backups are managed by the device and backup settings you use.

Shopping and sharing

Shopping opens the Barely Xtensions website, where the website privacy policy applies. The app does not collect payment-card information. If you share an image through another app, that destination handles the shared image under its own practices.

Android face detection and SDK data

The Android version of Barely Xtensions Try-On uses Google ML Kit for face detection. ML Kit processes camera images and selected photos on your device and does not send those images or the face-detection results to Google. This is separate from the optional Gemini AI photo upload described above.

Google ML Kit sends SDK operation and usage information to Google, including device model and operating-system information, app package and version, an SDK installation identifier, processing times, image format and resolution, input and output sizes, feature settings, usage events and error codes. Google uses these metrics to operate, diagnose, maintain and improve its APIs and detect misuse. The metrics are encrypted in transit. Google explains this handling in its ML Kit Terms & Privacy, Android data disclosure and Privacy Policy.

The Share usage and diagnostics switch controls Barely Xtensions’ optional analytics sent through Supabase. It does not turn off Google ML Kit’s separate SDK metrics. Our optional analytics remain off unless you enable them. For questions about your app data, existing records or a deletion request, contact Au Dela Inc., the company behind Barely Xtensions, at info@barelyxtensions.com. Our contact and deletion-request process is available to Android users.

Optional AI result reports

If you choose Report this AI result and submit a report inside the Android app, we send your selected report category, a one-way SHA-256 fingerprint of the generated image, the selected shade and look, a random app installation identifier, app version, platform and submission time to our Supabase service. The report does not upload the image itself, your email address or a written message. We use these records to receive and assess reports about AI results and support the safety of this app. Reporting is optional and works independently of the Share usage and diagnostics switch; submitting a report does not enable optional analytics.
