CARING FOR YOUR EXTENSIONS
To preserve the lifespan and quality of your Barely Xtensions, we recommend following our Hair Care Guide to ensure all products remain as fabulous as the people who wear them! Included in every shipment is a booklet with all our recommended tips and tricks.

BRUSHING + DETANGLING
It is important to brush the extensions before and after each wear. We recommend using an ultra-gentle boar bristle brush that can effectively detangle while avoiding breakage.
You may brush your hair while wearing the clip-ins but be careful to avoid the top of the hair where your clips are attached to avoid pulling them out. When you remove your clip-in hair extensions, you can brush them to detangle and smooth the hair. It is easier to hold the hair at the top and start from the bottom, gently brushing through the hair. This will avoid creating any significant knots and detangle the hair.
Before washing, we recommend carefully removing any tangles using an ultra-gentle boar bristle brush before shampooing your extensions. Just like your own hair, the extensions can break if too much force is used.
WASHING
To prevent your Barely Xtensions from becoming dry and damaged, we suggest limiting the number of washes, since the extensions don’t receive the oil that your natural hair does. The frequency of washes should vary based on how often they are worn, but we suggest only washing your Barely Xtensions when they become unmanageable to style.
SHAMPOOING
When it is time to shampoo, use a gentle, sulfate-free, and alcohol-free product as these ingredients can dry the hair out. Carefully rinse the hair extensions with lukewarm water. Place a small amount of shampoo in the palm of your hand. The shampoo should be applied to the hair in a downward motion from the top of the extensions to the ends.
Gently lather shampoo until hair is visibly clean, then rinse the hair thoroughly under lukewarm water until all shampoo has been completely removed. Under no circumstance should you twist, rub or scrub the hair.
CONDITIONING
We recommend always using a deep-conditioning mask when washing your Barely Xtensions as this will help retain moisture and keep the hair smooth and silky. Always use shampoo first and then apply a generous amount of a deep conditioning mask from top to bottom. Upon rinsing, towel dry and apply a leave-in conditioner. The best way to dry your hair extensions is to lay them flat on a clean towel and let them air dry.
STYLING
Our 100% Remy Human Hair extensions are safe to be straightened, blow-dried, styled and curled.
However, just like your own hair, be sure to use an approved heat protectant spray before styling and using a low heat setting to preserve the lifespan of your Barely Xtensions. On synthetic hair products, please test a small strand of hair first to ensure that the styling tool is not too hot.
COLORING
Additionally, if you change your hair color or need adjusting, our 100% Remy Human Hair extensions are safe to get professionally toned, but we recommend using professional treatment to ensure the care and safety of your extensions. We do not recommend the use of bleaching or at-home hair dying. The same goes for cutting the extensions if need be, and we suggest finding a professional who specializes in hair extensions since cutting and styling hair extensions can be different than cutting hair.
